Drum Lessons
I offer private drum lessons on Fridays and Sunday every week. Anyone is welcome, from pure beginners to advanced players trying to become professionals. Practice on quality drums and cymbals, in a acoustically treated yet lively space.
Lesson Style
I provide a balanced teaching style, as I believe it's important to keep students engaged, but that it's also extremely important to push through the tough work.
Flexibility is a must for me. Students can learn how to engage all the muscles involved to play efficiently, they can pick songs to learn (which I can quickly transcribe), or they can even simply play along to their favorite tracks — I always have a lesson plan ready, but changing gears is never an issue!
Experience
I've been officially teaching since 2023, by this time having experience with ages 8 and up. I have patience with young students, but at the same time have practice coaching professional recording drummers to get their best performances in the studio. I have toured and played gigs in a variety of styles, but I specialize in fusion, rock, jazz, and metal.
Given the studio's location in Mountain View, it's worth noting that I went to both JLS and Gunn HS when I was younger. I played in the Big Band, and Wind Ensemble at Gunn, so I'm fully aware of what is required to audition and perform well in those ensembles.
Aside from teaching, I'm a professional recording drummer, producer, mixing engineer, and mastering engineer. While not every student needs to learn how to record or produce music, I am always happy to share my knowledge!
